Renegade Game Studios will release a new limited printing of Axis & Allies: WWI 1914 this year, marking the return of a much-loved entry in the 42-year-old wargaming franchise. Pitting the Allies against the Central Powers, WWI 1914 is not a game of blitzkriegs and bold offensives, but rather a war won by carefully-considered and determined offensives through the no-man’s-lands of Europe.

This updated release will be the first limited edition offering in the Axis & Allies line under Renegade; who plans to bring back other classics from the past on a rotating basis. For future re-releases fans who join the Officer’s Club will be able to participate in polls which will be used to determine which out of print titles are brought back next.

“Axis & Allies WWI 1914 was a game that we knew that we had to bring back,” says Dan Bojanowski, Senior Board Game Producer at Renegade. “In order to do it justice we worked with community expert Kevin Chapman (known as “Krieghund” on various forums) to make updates to the rules based on past errata and clarifications. Designer Larry Harris also suggested adding in some extra copies of units and chips as quality-of-life improvements for the early game, which we were happy to do!”

The new Renegade printing will incorporate past errata and updates to the rulebook, and add additional German (4) and British (2) infantry figures, and 20 more plastic chips to improve the gameplay experience, but will otherwise be the same great game gamers have loved for years.

The new printing of Axis & Allies: WWI 1914 will have a suggested retail price of $99.99 and is expected to release at GenCon and then worldwide at game and specialty stores this August.
